VB Series

The VB series is primarily used as auxiliary propulsion. Depending on the ship's design, the system is installed either in the bow or the stern. The system offers enhanced maneuverability.

The VB series consists of tunnels that slope downward towards the bottom of the ship, positioned on both the port and starboard sides. The vertically mounted propeller is connected to a horizontally positioned propeller shaft, which can be powered electrically, hydraulically, or by a diesel engine. The very simple construction without gears and right-angle transmissions makes the VB series highly reliable.

The system is supplied as standard with a base plate, ensuring very easy installation. The VB series has an efficiency of approximately 9.5 kg/kW. Because the tunnels slope downward, the system achieves its maximum efficiency when the propeller is half submerged in water. The top of the tunnel is equipped with an inspection hatch, allowing easy inspection of the propeller or the removal of any debris that may have been sucked in.

The VB series can only be installed on a flat bottom.
